Holistic massage — what is it?

The main purpose for which people go for a massage in Riga is relaxation and strengthening of health. And this question should be approached comprehensively, as the human body is a holistic structure, and if you do not satisfy at least one of its needs, alas, you will not feel relief and inner harmony.

Have you ever heard of what a holistic pulsating massage is? It is often also called pulsing, from the English word pulsing. But holistic massage itself represents a holistic system that has a preventive and rehabilitative effect on the body. It is known that it is through the body that the physical, spiritual and emotional component of a person is affected, so holistic massage is the best solution if you want to achieve complete relaxation and feel healthy.

How holistic massage appeared

Holistic Palsing in RigaPulsing massage was developed by Israeli osteopath Tovy Browning in the late 70's. Observing many patients, she realized that to completely cure a person of the disease, it is not enough to treat him only on a physical level. We need a holistic approach that would affect the psycho-emotional state of man, because sometimes even our thoughts are the cause of all diseases.

Studying the Western practices of structural osteopathy and craniosacral therapy, Browning began to look for a method of treatment that would combine these effects. The search led her to create a completely new method of treatment known as holistic pulsing. Later, this holistic system was renamed holistic massage, and its practices began to be adopted by other specialists.

Massage philosophy

In holistic massage, the human body is considered as a single system, where all its components are closely interconnected and interdependent. And the treatment is to balance the broken connections, not just to remove the symptoms of the disease.

That is, the philosophy of this method can be described as follows: "As much as the resource of the whole organism as a whole is restored, so are the individual problem areas." That is, going through a session of holistic massage eliminates the possibility of deprivation of inner harmony and imbalance between body systems.

Features of holistic pulsing

The method of massage, which Browning presented to the world, refers to body-oriented therapy, where, unlike classical massage, soft vibrations and swings are used instead of kneading movements, where the amplitude and rhythmicity of movements plays a special role. They are selected strictly individually in accordance with the internal rhythm of the patient and are maintained throughout the procedure.

In addition, during the pulsing session, the massage specialist conducts a therapeutic dialogue with the patient, removing the clamps and blocks not only in the body but also in the mind.

In general, the effects of holistic massage can be divided into 3 areas:

  1. Physical — the use of massage, osteopathic, and manual techniques.
  2. Psychological — the use of therapeutic dialogue in order to restore emotional and psychological harmony.
  3. Energy — ensuring the synchronization of the systems of the human body, as well as the conscious and unconscious part of the personality, which also helps in the treatment of psychosomatic disorders.

Holistic massage is recommended in the following cases:

  • stress, fatigue, depression;
  • insomnia;
  • cerebral palsy, autism;
  • psychosomatic disorders;
  • hormonal disorder;
  • rehabilitation after stroke/heart attack.

Pulsing massage is contraindicated if you have:

  • ligament and tendon injuries, fractures;
  • infectious diseases;
  • cardiovascular diseases;
  • diabetes.
